We are a homeschooling family with 3 kids in southern Arizona! We are blessed with a small ranch property (the "Mini Ranch") and a very nice home where we can safely raise puppies in a controlled home environment.

In general, we follow breeding and puppy raising techniques of:

• Ian Dunbar, who created the idea of formal puppy training in the 1980s
• Jane Lindquist of Puppy Culture, 

Ky has been raising other people's dogs and puppies since the 1980s, and has a weekly Puppy Tips podcast and Puppy Raiser community. We include free access to the Puppy Raiser community (a $200 gift!).

A couple of things we do differently:

• We only have 2 dams and 1 sire.
• We trust mama's body & instinct ALWAYS, and do not use any artificial insemination techniques, nor do we stud out our dogs.
• We believe in natural breeding! When our girls are in the 3 fertile days of their heat cycle, we only expose them to Lorenzo for about 10 min twice a day. If they aren't having it, then the girls sit down, and that's it! 
• All of our dogs are AKC registered, and all of our puppies are AKC register-able.
• We include not only the microchip, but also handle microchip registration for FREE, so that on day 1 your puppy is already in the system.
• We offer 2 options of puppy insurance that start on Day 1. (We do not receive any kickbacks or reimbursement, of any kind.)
• All of our dogs are fed grain-free diets, with weekly "Special Dinner" boosts of meat, fruit and eggs.
• All of our puppies have Puppy Preschool from Weeks 4-8! 
• Our Puppy Buyers have a Backstage Pass where they can follow along with the Puppy Preschool daily curriculum here.
• All of our puppies get 2 short car rides and 1 long car ride with their littermates, to prepare them for Go Home Day.
• We give our puppies and mamas boosts of organic coconut oil and goat milk.
• We keep our pups in a quiet environment overnight, and from Weeks 1-2. We find this encourages self-soothing, and eases their transition to real homes!
• Our puppies listen to 1 hr of classical music every morning, watch tv/listen to our kids' choice of music for 1 hour at night.
• All of our puppies go home with 1-2 weeks of light crate training and know how to sit.

We are first generation breeders with decades worth of puppy care, nurturing, litter-raising, and overall dog well-being. Tucked in between the Sleepy grandfather suguaro's and the Baja Coastal water - our puppy-raising program has traversed the tides of the sands and haboobs to help create and carry on the legacy of the Legend that is THE Portugese Water Dog. We allow our dogs to be free at our humble casita, eat the creme de la creme of food, and enjoy superbest friendship with children, livestock, and mother nature, cultivating a diciplined and highly exuberant man's best friend. They are tolerant to the desert heat and extreme overnight coastal colds, exemplifying a coat and a temprement that is hard to find anywhere in any breed.
